Short Term Rental Identification

Here you will find a Short-Term Rental Questionnaire that requires information regarding your properties. You will also find a copy of Bulletin Number 2021-01, issued by the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury on April 1, 2021, which outlines why we are requesting this information. As you can see from the bulletin, we require information regarding all the properties you own in the state of Tennessee to insure each property is assessed in accordance with state law. This information is due to our office by September 1st. 

" Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 67-5-801(b)(3)(D), an Affidavit shall be filed with the Assessor of Property by September 1 of the year prior to the year the property owner is seeking the benefit of the classification. The below template is provided as an example of such an affidavit. A property owner may only file an Affidavit for one piece of property other than his principal residence."
